Three species take center stage in the Starcraft universe: the humanoid Protoss, the human Terrans and the insect aliens Zerg. Although Starcraft Brood War’s gameplay follows the Starcraft gameplay, Brood War improved certain abilities for better strategy and ushered in unit cost fine tuning. Starcraft Brood War is set in the early 26th century in the Starcraft universe. Terrans are exiles from planet Earth who have established governments in the Koprulu Sector of the Milky Way. A civil war ends with the creation of the Terran Dominion, but the humans are again caught in a war between two new races, the Protoss and the Zerg. Starcraft ends with the death of the Overmind, the Zerg leader, causing the leaderless Zergs to wander in the Protoss world Aiur. When the United Earth Directorate (UED) discovers alien life in Koprulu, they send an expedition to the sector to prevent the aliens from finding Earth.
Starcraft Brood War Download – Characters
Over the course of the game, the player takes on three character roles under different commanding officers/characters. In the first campaign, the player is the Protoss fleet commander. The player becomes captain of the UED expedition force in the second campaign. In the last campaign, the player is a Zerg cerebrate or commander in the Zerg swarm.

Starcraft Brood War can be played from a disc or downloaded from the internet. Go to the Blizzard Entertainment’s website at www.us.blizzard.com. Click on “Store” in the upper right corner of the page. Click on the “PC Games” tab. Under “Blizzard Universes,” look for “Starcraft” and click on it. You’ll see “Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty”, “Starcraft Anthology” and “Starcraft Battle Chest.” Battle Chest is more expensive ($19.99) and contains strategy guides along with Starcraft and Brood War game DVDs. “Starcraft Anthology” ($14.99) is a digital download. This version includes Starcraft bundled with the expansion pack Starcraft Brood War download.
